Rescue Operation: Fire Officers and Vets Save Horse Stuck in Narrow Gap

Fire officers and veterinarians were called in to help rescue a one-year-old horse named Howard who had become stuck in a narrow gap next to a building at his stables near Duxford. The horse had broken some boards of a barn, causing him to become wedged between the wall and a beam. The Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service officers had to sedate Howard in order to release him, but he was freed after an hour with only superficial injuries that will heal.

The fire service had to partially dismantle a wall in order to free Howard from the narrow gap. Despite the ordeal, Howard’s owner reported that he only suffered a few grazes and was a bit sore, but seemed to have walked away from the incident okay. Howard was happily eating his dinner just an hour after being rescued, showing no signs of serious injury.

The owner of Howard at Chrishall Grange expressed gratitude for the successful rescue operation and the fact that Howard was freed without any major injuries. The fire service shared the news on social media, reassuring that Howard was safe and sound after the incident. The horse was able to return to his normal routine after the ordeal, much to the relief of his owner and the rescue team.
