Lucy Lou, a ten-year-old Akita rescued in poor condition, was taken in by Dogs Trust Kenilworth where she was treated for entropion, a painful eye condition. After struggling initially in the kennels, Lucy Lou thrived in a foster home, becoming house trained and showing her affectionate nature. The charity describes her transformation as nearly complete and is now seeking a peaceful, loving retirement home for her where she can enjoy rural walks and relaxation.

Dogs Trust Kenilworth is also appealing for more volunteer foster carers to temporarily care for dogs in need. Currently, the charity is looking after 133 dogs, including seven senior dogs like Lucy Lou, all hoping to find their forever homes and enjoy their later years with loving families.
