Elisabeth Page Mitteness, known as Page, was born in Thief River Falls, MN in 1958. She developed a love for animals at a young age, training and showing her German Shepherd and later getting her own horse. Page graduated from Park Rapids Area High School in 1976 and attended the University of Minnesota Crookston, where she met her husband Rick Mitteness. They moved to Milton, IA, and eventually settled on her grandfather’s farm in Russell, IA, where they raised Angus cattle and became well-known in the community.
Page had a deep love for her family farm, animals, and gardening. She was dedicated to hard work and always had a project on hand. Page enjoyed training and showing horses in her younger years and could often be found in the barn or working in the yard. She was known for her hospitality, always having a plate of food ready for visitors. Page is survived by her sons, grandchildren, brother, sister, and extended family members.
Page’s husband Rick Mitteness, parents Harold and Eleanor Olson, and in-laws Leonard and Charlotte Mitteness preceded her in death. A celebration of life will be held at a later time, and memorials can be sent to the Wayne County Fair in Corydon, IA. Page will be remembered for her love of animals, hard work ethic, and dedication to her family and community.
