Record-Breaking NCHA Futurity Sales in Fort Worth See Horses Sold for Up to $550,000

The NCHA Futurity Sales in Fort Worth are showcasing some of the highest-priced cutting horses in the country, with record-breaking bids reaching as high as $550,000 for a two-year-old filly named Faded Love. The week-long event, held at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center, saw an average sale price of $75,582 on its opening day, marking a 3% increase from last year’s record. Other notable sales included Reyzin Day Z at $495,000 and Stylin Reyish at $300,000, reflecting the growing prominence of North Texas as a hub for elite cutting and reining horses.

This surge in high-value horse sales follows a massive $28 million dispersal sale by TR9 ranch in September, which featured a $5.6 million sale of the 2022 NCHA Horse of the Year, Third Edge. The event also attracted notable buyers like the XIT and Bosque Ranch, owned by “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan, who attended the Futurity Sales. Amid these high-stakes transactions, organizers have implemented strict health protocols due to an outbreak of the EHV-1 equine virus, requiring recent health certificates to ensure the safety of all participating horses.
