Racing Incident Report: Key Horse Performances and Stewards’ Findings

The racing incident report details several horses’ performances and incidents during the race. Notably, SPARKLING FELLOW (No. 2) faced some difficulty obtaining clear running between 500 and 300 meters but responded well once clear, finishing strongly alongside the winner GOLD PATCH (No. 8), both horses sent for post-race sampling. TOP THRONE (No. 3) and BULLISH PRIDE (No. 13) made contact near the 300 meters due to shifting ground, with TOP THRONE disadvantaged by racing towards the center and found to be a “roarer” upon veterinary inspection. SKY CAP (No. 5) hung in throughout the race, making it difficult to ride out, while LIVE WIRE (No. 11) was steadied near 250 meters when crowded between SPICY SPEEDY (No. 6) and SKY CAP, leading to a reprimand for Apprentice Wong for insufficient effort to straighten his mount.

Other horses experienced various issues at the start, including SPICY SPEEDY shifting in and being bumped, BEAUTY GEMINI (No. 7) and VIVA BOSS (No. 12) jumping awkwardly, and KWAI CHUNG TALENTS (No. 9) and LIVE WIRE being bumped on jumping. ENJOY GOLF (No. 14) was also bumped at the start. Despite these incidents, no significant veterinary findings were reported post-race for SKY CAP, and VIVA BOSS was deemed suitable to race after kicking a rail in the Parade Ring.
