British teenager Rachel Proudley achieved a new personal best by clearing 7ft 3in (2.20m) to share top honors with Ireland’s Brendan Murphy in the LeMieux puissance at the CSI3* Bolesworth International. At just 19, Proudley, riding Graham Ward’s Easy Boy De Laubry Z, demonstrated remarkable bravery and skill, surpassing her previous best set at the London International. Brendan Murphy, riding Hugh Fitzpatrick’s Erne Riverrun, also cleared the height flawlessly, resulting in a joint victory celebrated with a lap of honor.
The competition’s final round featured three riders tackling the imposing red wall, with Jack Whitaker narrowly missing out after his mare knocked down top bricks. Proudley expressed amazement at her horse’s performance, praising his bravery and trustworthiness, while Murphy highlighted the achievement of winning with his sole horse at the event. The event showcased emerging talent and thrilling showjumping action, with William Fletcher and Maisy Williams finishing joint fourth.
