PVAMU Extension’s 4-H Youth Development program is empowering students like Abril Soto and Abigail Traylor with skills beyond academics, focusing on clarity, confidence, and purposeful direction for their futures. Abril’s participation in workshops and mentorship through 4-H helped her develop goal-setting, professional communication, and networking skills, which she actively applies as she prepares to transfer to Texas A&M University–Kingsville for engineering. Abigail’s journey reflects the program’s support for turning early passions into disciplined pursuits; her dedication to horse riding and leadership earned her a scholarship and academic success, including earning college credits while still in high school.
