The Horse and Cattle Show, a culturally significant event held in Lahore, Punjab, and Jacobabad, Sindh, celebrates the unity and traditions of Pakistan while promoting agricultural and industrial development. Since its inception in 1964 at Fortress Stadium, the show has featured competitions and exhibitions of livestock such as horses, camels, buffaloes, and sheep, alongside traditional performances, colorful floats, and various entertainment activities. The event attracts farmers, breeders, and the general public, showcasing the best local breeds and regional cultural heritage.
In preparation for the 2025 edition, the Punjab government has approved a Rs 1.5 billion budget, with the event themed “Unity, Progress, and Revival of Culture.” The inauguration was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who emphasized the show’s role in fostering national pride and positivity. The festival not only highlights Pakistan’s rich agricultural traditions but also aims to present a vibrant and hopeful image of the nation to the world.
