Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian inaugurated the two-day “C PEX- Chandigarh Pet Expo-2024” and 76th All Breed Dog & Horse Show in Parade Ground, Sector-17. The event will showcase over 500 dogs from 30 different breeds participating in fun events judged by international judges. The show is organized by CAT Consult in association with Chandigarh Kennel Club and other organizations.
S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian emphasized the increasing importance of pets in nuclear families and the need to discuss issues related to pet animal welfare. The event aims to serve as a model for protecting birds and animals, with various stakeholders coming together to address these issues. The Animal Husbandry Department of Punjab is actively engaged in providing services to the state’s livestock, including purchasing dewormers and upgrading polyclinics.
The Chandigarh Pet Expo serves as a milestone in the history of the tri-city, providing a platform for the pet industry to showcase products to consumers. The event features top dogs and breeders from North India, with over 50 exhibitors including well-known brands in pet care products. The expo offers a great opportunity for pet owners to interact with veterinarians and industry professionals, promoting awareness and discussion on pet welfare.
