Princess Catharina-Amalia of Orange Celebrates College Graduation with Royal Family

Princess Catharina-Amalia of Orange, the heir to the Dutch throne, recently celebrated her college graduation from the University of Amsterdam with her family, including her parents King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, her grandmother Princess Beatrix, and her younger sisters. The royal family shared photos on Instagram showing the Princess in a maroon off-the-shoulder dress and graduation cap. Her bachelor’s thesis focused on AI legislation in Europe, titled “Beyond Disclosure: Bridging the Gap Between the Artificial Intelligence Act and the Charter of Fundamental Rights with Deepfaked Bodies,” and she plans to pursue a law degree.

Last month, Catharina-Amalia was hospitalized after a horseback riding accident that resulted in a broken arm requiring surgery. In April, she also made headlines for wearing a 137-year-old Mellerio Ruby Parure Tiara, a treasured piece from the Dutch royal collection, during a state visit. The tiara was paired with a lavender Safiyaa dress, a brand favored by other royals such as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
