Princess Anne Returns to Public Riding at Trooping the Colour After Head Injury Recovery

Princess Anne is set to make a significant return to public riding this weekend at Trooping the Colour, nearly a year after suffering head injuries from a horse-related incident at her Gatcombe Park estate. The 74-year-old royal, serving in her ceremonial role as Gold Stick and Colonel of the Blues and Royals, will participate in the King’s Birthday Parade, marking her recovery and determination to continue her longstanding equestrian tradition.

Following the accident last June, which resulted in a mild concussion and a five-day hospital stay, Princess Anne showed remarkable resilience by resuming public duties within weeks, including supporting Team GB at the 2024 Olympics. Her swift return highlights her steadfast commitment to duty, a hallmark of her five decades of public service.

Anne’s deep connection to equestrianism spans decades, from competing in the 1976 Montreal Olympics to her ongoing patronage of numerous horse-related charities. Her passion for horses is shared by her daughter Zara Tindall, an Olympic eventing silver medallist, underscoring the royal family’s enduring dedication to the sport and charitable work.
