Prince William and Prince Harry were recently informed about a serious accident involving their aunt, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the older sister of the late Princess Diana. At 70 years old, Lady Sarah suffered a severe horse-riding fall that required a lengthy hospital stay. Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother, described her as a strong-willed and spirited character, noting that she was quite a handful during her treatment.
In a related note, the royal family has seen similar incidents, as Princess Anne, another aunt from their father’s side, was also injured in a horse-related accident last year. Buckingham Palace confirmed that Princess Anne sustained minor injuries and a concussion, and she later revealed she has no memory of the accident. These incidents highlight the risks the family members face with their equestrian activities.
