President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a new 105-foot-long foot over bridge on Rajpur Road in Dehradun during her three-day visit to Uttarakhand. The bridge, constructed by the state Public Works Department at a cost of Rs nine crore within six months, features Himalayan aesthetics and local architecture, enhancing pedestrian safety and connectivity between Rashtrapati Niketan and Rashtrapati Park. Accompanied by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Governor Gurmit Singh, Murmu also inaugurated a 0.7-acre horse riding area for the President’s Bodyguard horses, which includes stables, a care room, and visitor facilities.
During her visit, President Murmu attended the second convocation of the University of Patanjali in Haridwar and is scheduled to address the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly on the state’s silver jubilee. She will also commemorate the 125th anniversary of Raj Bhavan and visit Nainital to attend Kumaon University’s 20th convocation and offer prayers at Neem Karoli Maharaj Temple.
