Ponies Help Children Celebrates 10 Years of Therapy and Support Through Rescued Ponies

Ponies Help Children (PHC) is a charity that began in 2015 with the mission to rescue abused and neglected ponies and has since evolved to provide therapeutic equine engagement for children and young people, particularly benefiting those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Based at Blairmains Farm near Harthill, with a hub at Woodhead Farm in Uddingston, PHC now supports around 60 to 70 young people weekly. The charity recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary with events including a demonstration of therapy sessions, the opening of a new training facility funded by Spifox, and a commemorative tree planting by Dr. William Morrison Young.

The anniversary weekend also featured fundraising efforts such as a 10-day running challenge by team leader Calum Stephens, raising over £2,300. PHC’s success is attributed to the dedication of its volunteers and supporters, who help maintain and grow the charity’s services. The organization continues to expand its impact through volunteer development programs and community engagement, inviting those interested to get involved via their website and social media platforms.
