Political Twist, the 5/2 morning line favorite for the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity, leads a competitive field of two-year-olds in this prestigious quarter horse race. The gelding, owned by Javier Rodriguez and Ray Willis, has already proven his prowess by winning the West Texas Futurity and comes into the race undefeated in three starts. With jockey Luis Martinez aboard, Political Twist recorded the fastest qualifying time of 17.629 seconds for 350 yards, showcasing his strong performance in the trials.
The Futurity features nine other horses, all of which won their respective trial races. Notable contenders include Famous N Relentless, who is co-owned by Tom Maher and Amber Olmstead and trained by Jason Olmstead, and has also maintained an undefeated record.
