The Torrevieja Local Police responded to a call about three cats hiding inside a car engine in a parking lot on March 11. Upon arrival, officers carefully rescued the cats from underneath the vehicle and released them unharmed. The police used this incident to remind drivers to check their vehicles, especially the engine and undercarriage, before driving, as small animals often seek refuge there during cold weather.
This rescue highlights the important role local authorities play in animal and wildlife protection on the Costa Blanca. Torrevieja police and Alicante firefighters are trained to handle various animal emergencies, including marine wildlife rescues. Citizens are encouraged to promptly report animals in distress to ensure their safety and well-being.
