Plymouth Woman Arrested After Horses Escape Property Over 30 Times

Jennetta Darlene Nickerson, a 50-year-old Plymouth woman, has been charged with animal cruelty and multiple counts of animals running at large after her horses repeatedly escaped from her property—over 30 times between 2024 and 2025. Despite efforts by law enforcement and the Marshall County Humane Society to secure the horses, Nickerson was often unreachable, leading to several incidents where loose horses caused damage to nearby crops.

Following numerous complaints and failed attempts to contact Nickerson, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office filed an order on October 17 to confiscate her horses. Nickerson was arrested and booked on October 2, facing multiple misdemeanor charges related to the ongoing issue of her animals running loose and causing disturbances in the community.
