Planning Application Submitted for Personal-Use Outdoor Riding Arena in Leominster

A planning application has been submitted for a personal-use outdoor riding arena at Holly Brook, Hamnish, Leominster. The proposal includes constructing the arena with timber post and rail fencing and a sand and fibre riding surface. Pegasus Equestrian Construction Ltd lodged the application, with the consultation period running from November 6 to November 27, and a decision expected by December 26.

Aware Ecology Ltd conducted a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal and Biodiversity Net Gain assessment to evaluate the presence of protected species and the site’s potential to achieve a 10% net gain in biodiversity. The report emphasizes the legal requirement for local authorities to consider biodiversity impacts and ensure appropriate measures are in place to maintain the conservation status of any protected species. The council’s decision on the application is still pending.
