Pinto World Championship Horse Show Boosts Tulsa’s Economy with Thousands of Visitors and Horses

Tulsa is hosting the Pinto World Championship Horse Show at Expo Square, attracting around 1,200 horses and thousands of visitors from across the U.S. and internationally. The nearly two-week event features 720 classes across various horse types and disciplines, drawing competitors and spectators who also engage with local businesses, attractions, and amenities. This influx significantly boosts Tulsa’s economy, contributing over $88 million in 2024 from major horse shows alone, with visitors spending on hotels, restaurants, stores, and entertainment.

The Pinto Horse Association of America, which organizes the event, registers about 88,000 horses internationally and holds shows in 52 states. “Pinto” refers to horses with distinctive spotted or solid coat colors, showcased in diverse classes ranging from Western pleasure to jumping. Tulsa’s Expo Square is praised as a premier equestrian facility, supported by local government and tourism officials, making the city an ideal and welcoming host for this large-scale, multi-day equestrian celebration.
