Piggy March Triumphs at Belsay’s Inaugural CCI4-S with Halo

Piggy March triumphed at Belsay’s inaugural CCI4*-S event, riding Jayne McGivern’s stallion Halo. After finishing second in dressage with a score of 22.1, Piggy excelled in the cross-country phase, incurring only 2.8 time penalties, while competitor Ros Canter dropped to sixth due to time faults. Piggy praised the challenging course designed by Adrian Ditcham and expressed her aspirations for future competitions, including the European Championships.

Izzy Taylor secured second place on SBH Big Wall, showcasing a strong performance across all phases, while Sarah Bullimore celebrated her birthday with a third-place finish on her homebred Corimiro. The event received positive feedback from participants, highlighting the exceptional venue and course conditions, which served as excellent preparation for upcoming competitions.

The event marked a significant achievement for organizer Laura de Wesselow, who expressed pride in the successful execution of the four-star event, despite initial challenges. The Belsay venue is set to host another event later in May, featuring various international classes, further establishing its reputation in the equestrian community.
