Phantom Fireworks Stand Supports Animal Rescue of Lathrop with Fundraising Efforts

The Animal Rescue of Lathrop operates one of seven “safe and sane” Phantom fireworks stands in Lathrop, selected through a lottery by the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District. All booths benefit local non-profits, with proceeds supporting the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of unwanted or neglected large farm animals such as horses, cows, goats, and pigs. The rescue is located at the A T Ranch & Equestrian Center.

Volunteer Darla McCallister, who discovered the rescue about ten years ago after losing her horse, shared a story about a rescued horse named Bobette, notable for her gnawed tail. Funds raised from the fireworks sales help cover veterinary bills and other expenses to improve the quality of life for the animals. The fireworks stand is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the day of the article and on the Fourth of July.
