Peter Brant’s French-bred filly Gezora achieved a rare double by winning the 2025 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Del Mar, following her earlier victory in the Prix de Diane. Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard and ridden by Mickael Barzalona, Gezora edged out She Feels Pretty in a thrilling stretch finish, completing the 1 3/8-mile race in 2:12.54 on firm turf. This marked Brant’s first Prix de Diane winner to also capture a Breeders’ Cup race, highlighting Gezora’s exceptional talent and heart, as noted by her connections.
Gezora’s campaign included a runner-up finish in the Prix Vermeille and a challenging run in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, underscoring her competitiveness at the highest level. Trainer Graffard celebrated a breakthrough Breeders’ Cup victory in a stellar season that also featured wins in the Arc and Champion Stakes. Brant praised Gezora’s temperament and resilience, signaling plans to discuss her 2026 campaign. Purchased as a 2-year-old after a strong juvenile season in France, Gezora has quickly rewarded her owner with top-level success on the international stage.
