More than 300 Pennsylvania 4-H youth convened at the 2026 Pennsylvania 4-H State Leadership Conference in State College to develop leadership skills, participate in workshops, and honor state-level award winners. A highlight of the event was the introduction of the new Pennsylvania 4-H State Council, a select group of young leaders from across the state who will serve as official youth representatives, plan events, and attend various 4-H activities throughout the year.
The newly appointed State Council members come from diverse counties and bring a wide range of experiences in agriculture, leadership, and community service. Each member shared how 4-H has helped them build confidence, communication, and leadership skills that will benefit their future educational and career goals. Administered by Penn State Extension, 4-H is a youth development program aimed at fostering capable and caring citizens through hands-on learning and community involvement.
