The Penn Mile and three other turf stakes races at Penn National Race Course have been rescheduled to June 27 due to an anticipated rainy forecast. The affected races include the $400,000 Grade 3 Penn Mile, $150,000 Penn Oaks, and two $75,000 Pennsylvania-bred stakes: the Alphabet Soup and Lyphard.
Seven other non-stakes races will proceed as planned on June 20. The decision to move the turf stakes prioritizes the safety of both human and equine participants and ensures the races can be run on turf as intended.
