Pegasus World Cup Invitational Joins Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series for 2026

The $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) will be included for the first time in the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In, granting its winner an automatic starting spot and entry fees paid for the 2026 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Keeneland. Held on January 24 at Gulfstream Park, the 1 1/8-mile dirt race also awards the winning horse’s nominator $10,000. The Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series features 94 stakes races across 15 countries, with winners receiving travel benefits and automatic entries to corresponding Breeders’ Cup races.

Since its 2017 rebranding, the Pegasus World Cup has become a premier event in North American racing, with six of its nine winners also capturing Breeders’ Cup races, highlighting the synergy between the two programs. The 2026 Pegasus World Cup will mark its 10th anniversary and serve as a key qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Classic, linking fans and participants globally. The event will be broadcast live from Gulfstream Park on NBC and Peacock, continuing its tradition as a luxury sports and entertainment spectacle.
