A new equestrian team named Pegasus Kerala was launched in Coimbatore by Pegasus Sports, aimed at competing in the inaugural Polo Premier League (PPL) and Equestrian Champions League, scheduled from June 15 to July 15, 2025. The launch event took place at SNR Auditorium, featuring notable attendees such as actor Shanthanu and Olympic equestrian Imtiaz Anees.
The PPL and Equestrian Champions League, organized by the Equine Sports India Federation in collaboration with the Indigenous Horse Society – Tamil Nadu, will see participation from teams across various Indian states, including Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, and Delhi. These leagues will showcase both polo and show jumping events.
R. Sundar, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, expressed his commitment to promoting polo in Kerala and nurturing young talent, while Priyanka Sundar emphasized the launch as a pivotal moment for polo in India, aiming to foster a broader movement for the sport.
