At Willinga Park, Para dressage and Virtus riders who qualified for the third day of the CPEDI showcased their skills in the freestyle test, performing routines set to music of their choice. This freestyle format allows riders to design their own tests, incorporating compulsory movements in any order and adding extra elements to increase difficulty. Judges evaluate not only the technical execution of movements but also transitions, rhythm, harmony, riding skills, choreography, and musical interpretation.
The atmosphere on Sunday was relaxed and enjoyable, as freestyle scores do not impact FEI World Championship qualification, which depends on earlier Grand Prix tests. Following a social BBQ hosted by Equestrian Australia on Saturday, competitors embraced the lighter mood, focusing on creativity and expression rather than pressure, making the final day a celebratory conclusion to the competition.
