Canadian heavy psych doom band Pale Horse Ritual has released their new single “Holy Lies” from the upcoming album Diabolic Formation, set for release on November 28 via Black Throne Productions. The track critiques the contradictions between spiritual wealth and real-world suffering, challenging hierarchical control cloaked in sanctity and advocating for equity and liberation. Musically, it features a dense, fuzz-laden sound with a hypnotic groove that balances weight and momentum.

Diabolic Formation continues the band’s exploration of themes around belief, power, and autonomy, with a lineup including Paco (bass/vocals), James Matheson (lead guitar), Will Adams (rhythm guitar/backing vocals), and Jonah Santa-Barbara (drums), plus guest musicians Dom Valela and Doom Valhalla. The album’s seven tracks delve into darker societal and spiritual issues, reinforcing Pale Horse Ritual’s evolving vision within the heavy psych doom genre.
