The Orana Equestrian Club Dubbo hosted its highly-anticipated Club Championships dressage event on November 2 at the Dubbo Showground, attracting riders and supporters from across the region. Competitors of all levels, from juniors to seasoned riders, participated in a full day of dressage tests ranging from Preparatory to FEI classes. Highlights included Sophie Lew winning Junior Champion, Debbie Blaxland taking Preparatory Champion, and Jac Benn earning Preliminary Champion, with several other riders also securing top honors. The event featured expert judging by Ross Green and included the presentation of the Sharon Kirby Memorial Encouragement Award to Jacqueline Benn for her dedication and improvement.
The competition was praised for its high standard of riding and strong community spirit, with Orana Equestrian Club President Nadine Russell commending the enthusiasm and support among members. The day concluded with a festive communal lunch and was thoughtfully scheduled to avoid the afternoon heat. With the championships complete, riders are now focusing on upcoming training days and regional competitions in 2026, continuing to build on the camaraderie and skill fostered by the club.
