Nikki Birch, founder of Silverbirch Farm, is dedicated to opening up access to horse riding for all, regardless of wealth. Despite her prestigious background working in top stables, she noticed a gap in accessibility to the hobby. Through initiatives like the Southend Council’s HAF programme, Silverbirch has supported over 450 children in horse riding.
The farm relies on volunteers to provide affordable access to horses, offering free school holiday activities to children in need. In addition to official support schemes, Silverbirch also organizes open days and affordable horse rides for those interested in experiencing horse riding. Nikki is proud of the five-pound pony rides they offer, making horse riding accessible to everyone.
In addition to providing affordable access to horse riding, Silverbirch Farm also organized hampers for 100 families in need during the holiday season. Nikki’s commitment to opening up horse riding to all reflects her passion for the hobby and desire to make it more inclusive.
