Olympic Medallist Toledo De Kerser Back Jumping After Injury and Other Horse World News

Olympic eventing medallist Toledo De Kerser, who won team gold and individual silver with Tom McEwen at Tokyo, is back to light competition after an injury sustained at Burghley in 2023. The 18-year-old gelding has been participating in showjumping events, including a recent double clear in a 1.10m class at Wellington, as part of a careful plan to keep him active without overexertion, benefiting his mental and physical well-being.

In other horse world news, nearly 64,000 people, including Sir Stephen Fry and top riders like Joe Stockdale, have supported a petition to reduce the maximum noise level of fireworks to below 90dB to lessen distress for humans and animals, though the government has largely dismissed these calls. Additionally, tributes have been paid to The Foreman, a notable eventing horse who passed away at age 29; he was remembered fondly by rider Phillip Dutton and owner Annie Jones for his remarkable career and retirement.
