Firefighters in Monroe Township, Clermont County, Ohio, successfully rescued a horse that had fallen into an iced-over in-ground pool. During the operation, the horse’s head was kept above water while it was carefully harnessed and lifted out. The wet but unharmed horse was safely reunited with its owner following the rescue.
This incident occurred amid a period of melting snow and ice, with temperatures in the 40s on the day of the rescue. Ohio has experienced several severe winter storms this year, including a record-setting storm in January that dropped over ten inches of snow in nearby Cincinnati. The region is now gradually warming, with forecasts predicting mid-50s temperatures later in the week.
