Karen Lynn Conrod (nee Angus), born February 5, 1951, passed away suddenly on June 26, 2025, at age 74 in Portage la Prairie. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Fred, their two sons Tyson and Reece, extended family, and many friends. Karen grew up on a farm near Dauphin, MB, and was deeply involved in 4H during her youth. She worked in various roles including education administration and childcare, often moving across Manitoba due to her husband’s RCMP career before settling permanently in Portage la Prairie. Known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and dedication to family and community, Karen was passionate about education, baking, gardening, and volunteering.
Her life was marked by love, laughter, and service, embodying the 4H pledge throughout her life. Karen’s family and community will miss her gentle spirit and tireless support. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 4, 2025, at Trinity United Church in Portage la Prairie, with a livestream available. Donations in her memory can be made to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
