Deborah Jane Johnson (June 29, 1957 – November 11, 2022) dedicated 28 years to teaching fourth grade in the Sebastopol Union School District, where she was affectionately known as “Miss J” and deeply cherished by her students and their families. A lifelong horse enthusiast, Deb enjoyed activities such as jumping, trail rides, horse camping, and horse shows.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt, survived by her sister Jewel Lauer, brother Dan Johnson, and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 4th at Bayside Church in Santa Rosa, with donations encouraged to the Equus Foundations, an organization dedicated to safeguarding America’s horses.
