Oaklawn Park is reintroducing its traditional Classix pick-six wager for the new season starting Friday, marking 40 years since its inception. This bet requires selecting the winners of six consecutive races with a $1 minimum and features a 75% carryover of the net pool if no ticket hits all six, allowing for potentially large payoffs. Oaklawn president Louis Cella emphasized that these changes reflect a commitment to offering fair, competitive, and exciting wagering options, including reduced takeout rates to enhance daily racing programs.
In addition to the Classix pick-six, Oaklawn is launching new wagering formats such as a “get out pick-three” with a $3 base wager and reduced takeout from 21% to 15%, and a $5 “late double” linking the last two races with similarly lowered takeout. These options aim to increase potential returns and streamline late-day betting. Oaklawn will also continue its Show Bet Bonus with a 10% on-track takeout, providing higher show payouts for on-site bettors. The track’s Holiday season runs through January 4, with an expanded Classic campaign from January 30 to May 2.
