The New York Racing Association (NYRA), which operates three thoroughbred racetracks and the NYRA Bets mobile wagering platform, is advocating for the integration of horse racing betting with the state’s online sportsbooks. During a recent state Assembly committee hearing, NYRA representatives expressed support for allowing fixed-odds betting on horse racing alongside other sports like hockey and football.

NYRA officials argue that this change could boost the sport’s popularity and generate nearly $30 million in additional tax revenue for the state. This move aims to revitalize horse racing, which is currently facing various challenges, by making wagering more accessible and appealing through established online sports betting platforms.
