The 2025 Northeast Region 4-H Horsemanship Clinic and Show took place from June 20-22 at the Orleans County Fairgrounds, drawing young horse enthusiasts from the Northeast Kingdom and beyond. The three-day event included fitting and showmanship instruction, English and Western riding lessons, drill team practice, and general knowledge contests. Participants camped overnight with their horses and showcased their skills during a Sunday horse show. The Kingdom Hoofbeats 4-H Club of Derby Line earned top honors for stable management and drill team performance, while individual awards recognized outstanding participants such as LeighAnn Judd, who received the Shelby Noyes Sportsmanship Award.
Winners in various fitting, showmanship, and senior project classes were announced, with notable placements by Carlie Rondeau, Piper Parsons, and Jenesy Zwart among others. General knowledge competitions awarded medals to top seniors, including Jenesy Zwart (gold) and Carlie Rondeau (silver). The clinic was sponsored by the Northeast Region 4-H Horse Committee and organized by University of Vermont Extension 4-H Educators Lindy Birch and Holly Ferris, with support from Tractor Supply Company. Contact information was provided for those interested in 4-H activities in the region.
