North Sharqiyah governorate is set to allocate over 8,000 acres for livestock and fodder cultivation to boost agricultural investment and production capacity. The region has attracted seven new projects worth RO33 million, covering livestock production, horse breeding, poultry, and egg production, alongside existing goat, cattle, camel breeding, and dairy operations. Dedicated investment zones are being developed, including the Sabsub plan in Mudhaibi and the Al Nakdat plan in Sinaw, with additional sites under study. The governorate supports a robust veterinary infrastructure, treating nearly 120,000 animals and administering over 800,000 vaccine doses in 2025, alongside disease prevention programs and breed improvement initiatives.
Livestock numbers reached approximately 435,000 head, with 1,622 farms and 46 grazing sites managing pasture use. Poultry production is significant, with annual outputs of 3.67 million birds and 126 million eggs, achieving 40% self-sufficiency in poultry meat and a 218% surplus in table eggs. Milk production is estimated at 255,600 cubic meters. The governorate continues to promote breeder and farmer awareness through educational programs and events, enhancing the sector’s sustainability and growth.
