No. 1 Georgia Equestrian Falls 16-3 to No. 5 South Carolina at One Wood Farm

No. 1 Georgia equestrian suffered its first loss of the 2026 season, falling 16-3 to No. 5 South Carolina at the Gamecocks’ One Wood Farm. South Carolina dominated early, taking an 8-2 lead after the fences and horsemanship events, with standout performances from senior Natalie Jayne and junior Alexis Potts, who earned Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors in their respective divisions.

Despite Georgia’s efforts, including points from sophomore Ella Witt in fences and senior Ella Duffy in flat riding, South Carolina maintained control throughout the meet. The Gamecocks secured a 4-0 win in reining, with one point nullified due to a tie, sealing Georgia’s defeat. Georgia will look to rebound when they host Auburn on February 28.
