Newfoundland and Labrador Hosts First Sanctioned Equestrian Show Promoting Inclusivity

The Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Centre in St. John’s hosted the first-ever Newfoundland and Labrador Equestrian Association Sanctioned Horse Show, featuring both para-athletes and able-bodied riders from across the province. This event marked a significant milestone in promoting inclusivity within the equestrian community.

Erin O’Rielley, program director at Rainbow Riders, highlighted the importance of the competition, noting that it offers athletes with disabilities a rare opportunity to compete alongside others, rather than being sidelined. She emphasized that this event provides equal opportunity and recognition for riders who often watch their peers participate in other sports like soccer or hockey.
