To celebrate the Year of the Horse according to the Chinese zodiac, Funabashi Racecourse in Chiba Prefecture hosted a New Year’s Eve drone show featuring 2,026 drones that created images of horses and other designs in the night sky. The event took place in the early hours of January 1, 2026.
The drone show was organized and executed by Red Cliff Inc., a Tokyo-based company known for conducting daily drone performances at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. This spectacle combined technology and tradition to welcome the new year with a visually striking tribute to the zodiac symbol.
