New Freedom Farm, founded by Lois Dawn Magill in 2016, will close its doors on July 31 after nearly a decade of providing therapeutic support for veterans and rescued horses. Magill expressed gratitude for the journey, highlighting the farm’s role as a sanctuary where military veterans and first responders found healing through their work with horses, many of which were rescues themselves.
As the nonprofit transitions its operations, the board is focused on connecting veterans with support resources and finding new homes for the horses, ensuring that each animal’s individual needs are met. Magill thanked the volunteers and supporters who contributed to the farm’s mission, emphasizing the collective impact made on both human and equine lives.
While New Freedom Farm will cease operations, its legacy of healing and connection will continue through the stories and relationships formed during its years of service. The board remains committed to ensuring veterans receive the necessary support and care for the animals.
