New Equestrian Centre Approved Near Buncrana

An equestrian center has received planning approval near Buncrana, allowing Hubert and Lorna McLaughlin to establish a horse riding school. The project involves converting part of an agricultural shed into a commercial facility, separate from the nearby Crana Stables, which the McLaughlins do not own.

In addition to the riding school, the McLaughlins have been granted permission to build an indoor sand arena for personal use, specifically for show jumping practice. The family competes with their horses in various competitions across Ireland.

Donegal County Council’s approval comes with seven conditions, including restrictions on surface water discharge, proper sewage management, and the preservation of local vegetation. The McLaughlins are also required to contribute €7,897 to local public infrastructure.
