A new covered arena near completion at Wellington International show grounds in Florida measures 200 by 419 feet, making it 60 feet longer than the existing Van Kampen arena at the Global dressage Festival facility. Built by Coastal Steel Structures, the arena is situated on the previously undeveloped south side of the 111-acre venue, which will soon become the new home for the Global dressage Festival after its relocation from its current site. This development supports year-round training and competition at the highest level, enhancing the experience for riders, horses, and spectators alike.
Wellington International, owned by Wellington Lifestyle Partners, hosts over 40 weeks of equestrian events annually and significantly contributes to the local economy with over $536 million in GDP impact and more than 4,000 jobs. Both Wellington International’s CEO Murray S. Kessler and Coastal Steel Structures’ President Chris Glykas emphasized the arena as a visionary investment in the sport’s future, reflecting a strong partnership aimed at elevating the equestrian community and maintaining Wellington’s status as a premier global equestrian venue.
