NBC Sports Extends Exclusive US Rights to Royal Ascot Through 2028

NBC Sports has extended its exclusive U.S. media rights deal for Royal Ascot through 2028, ensuring continued comprehensive coverage of the prestigious horse racing event across its digital and linear platforms, including Peacock. This partnership, ongoing since 2017, will feature over 20 hours of coverage across the five-day mid-June meet, reinforcing NBC’s strategy to offer live, appointment-viewing sports content. Additionally, NBC plans to increase focus on the Breeders’ Cup World Championships by expanding coverage of its qualifying races starting in 2026.

The extension highlights the strong collaboration between NBC Sports and Royal Ascot, with both parties emphasizing the importance of showcasing the event’s global appeal and storytelling to American audiences. This deal comes as NBCUniversal prepares to relaunch the NBC Sports Network, bolstering its sports programming lineup that already includes major events like the NBA, NFL, Kentucky Derby, and the Olympics. The partnership aims to unite horse racing fans worldwide and elevate the sport’s profile leading into the Breeders’ Cup season finale.
