National Identity, trained by Danny Gargan, secured a commanding 1 3/4-length victory in the $135,000 Say Florida Sandy Stakes at Aqueduct, extending his winning streak to four. After overcoming throat surgery last year, the 4-year-old Solomini colt demonstrated versatility and speed, leading from the start and holding off Acoustic Ave despite a late challenge. Jockey Kendrick Carmouche praised the horse’s strong finish and adaptability to track conditions, while Gargan hinted at a potential next start in the Haynesfield Stakes in late March.
Acoustic Ave, finishing second, ran a solid race under Jose Lezcano but couldn’t match National Identity’s pace. Bred by Hunter Valley Farm and purchased for $150,000 as a yearling, National Identity has now earned $74,250 from this win and continues to show promise as a top New York-bred older horse. Racing at Aqueduct continues with live coverage available on FOX Sports and betting through the NYRA Bets platform.
