My World and Dazzling Dame Shine in Jerome and Busanda Stakes at Aqueduct

At Aqueduct Racetrack on January 3, the 3-year-old colt My World, trained by Brad Cox and owned by Robert LaPenta and Madaket Stables, won the Jerome Stakes by two lengths, showcasing promise for longer-distance races like the Kentucky Derby. Sired by Essential Quality, a Belmont and Travers winner, My World has excelled at Aqueduct with three straight wins and is expected to continue his prep races in New York, targeting the Withers Stakes and Wood Memorial. His victory earned him 10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points, while runner-up Balboa earned 5 points.

Later on the same card, the filly Dazzling Dame dominated the Busanda Stakes, winning by 11 1/2 lengths and earning 20 Kentucky Oaks qualifying points. Owned by Respect the Valleys and trained by Brittany Russell, Dazzling Dame has won four of five starts and impressed with her strong finish. Bred in Maryland and sired by Girvin, she continues to build a strong case for the Kentucky Oaks with this commanding performance.
