Murcia is hosting its first international dressage competition from April 10 to 12 at the Aros – Rios Equestrian Club, featuring 120 rider-horse pairs from 16 countries. Part of the region’s Sports Tourism Plan, the event aims to establish Murcia as a premier destination for prestigious equestrian competitions, boosting tourism and the local economy. The competition, recognized in the International Equestrian Federation calendar, will evaluate the harmony and technical execution between riders and horses, enhancing Murcia’s reputation on the European equestrian stage.
In addition to this dressage event, Murcia will also host the Spanish dressage Championship for Young Horses in October and an international dinghy sailing competition in April, attracting nearly 1,000 athletes. These events collectively reinforce Murcia’s commitment to becoming a top sports tourism hub, promoting economic growth and international visibility for the Costa Calida region.
