Morocco Strengthens Equestrian Partnerships with Hungary and Spain at Salon du Cheval

At the 16th Salon du Cheval in El Jadida, the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Horse (SOREC) strengthened Morocco’s international equestrian ties by signing two key cooperation agreements. The first, with Hungary’s Szilvásvárad State Stud Farm, focuses on preserving and promoting horse-breeding traditions, particularly of the Barb, Arab-Barb, and Lipizzan breeds, through expertise exchange, applied research, and technical collaboration.

The second agreement, with Spain’s EXPASA, which manages the Pure Spanish Horses stud farm in Jerez de la Frontera, centers on breeding, scientific research, training, and cultural events. This partnership aims to breed Cartujan horses for equestrian performances in Morocco and explore genetic links between the Barb and Cartujan breeds, while also facilitating knowledge transfer and professional development in horse management and breeding.
