Morgan TerBush Places Sixth at National Collegiate Horsemanship Championship Representing SVSU

Morgan TerBush, a cell biology and biomedical sciences major at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), achieved a sixth-place finish in the Beginner Western Horsemanship event at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association National Championship in North Carolina. After strong performances throughout the season, including second place at regionals and fourth at semi-finals, TerBush advanced to nationals where riders are randomly assigned horses. She expressed pride in representing a small university on a national stage against larger schools.

TerBush joined SVSU’s equestrian club team after transferring in her sophomore year and praised the supportive environment fostered by teammates and coaches. Having ridden for over a decade, she values the deep connection and freedom she experiences through horseback riding. The SVSU equestrian team offers opportunities for students interested in the sport to compete and grow.
